Meet our Board Members

Dr. Chris Hans Hulshof 

Dr. Chris Hulshof is a professor and Disability Ministry program director for the John W. Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University. As the father of a young man with a disability, he is particularly interested in disability ministry and its theological foundations. As an ordained pastor, Dr. Hulshof’s hope is for the church to be a place of both welcome and belonging for those with a disability. He is the author of Jesus and Disability: A Guide to Creating an Inclusive Church (B&H Academic, 2022) and the coauthor of Creator to Crown: A Christ-Centered Catechism (B&H Academic, 2026). He and his family live in central Virginia 

Dr. Juanita Fisher 

Dr. Juanita Fisher is a committed educator, mentor, and advocate with more than 20 years of experience supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities. She has been a member of The Banquet Network’s Board of Directors since 2020 and served as Chair from 2023 to 2025. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of Student Accessibility Services at a community college, where she works to ensure equitable access for students with disabilities, and as Adjunct Faculty in the Special Police Officer Academy, where she educates officers on effective and respectful interactions with individuals with disabilities. Her professional background spans public, private, correctional, and higher education settings, where she has demonstrated strong leadership in developing curricula tailored to the needs of students with disabilities and fostering a culture of inclusion and awareness within academic communities. Throughout her career, Dr. Fisher has contributed to numerous panels, workshops, and legislative initiatives. Her advocacy efforts have played a key role in raising awareness of accessibility and strengthening support systems for individuals with disabilities. 

Amberle Brown 

Amberle’s own experience with disability led her to co-found The Banquet Network, which equips churches to reach and include people with disabilities.  Her work with disability inclusion extends globally, as she has spearheaded disability inclusion work at both World Relief and Compassion International.  Amberle currently serves on the board of The Banquet Network and works for Compassion International as the Sr. M&E Specialist for Health, Gender Equity, and Social Inclusion. Amberle holds an MSN and MPH from Johns Hopkins University and a BSN from Texas Christian University.  

Glenda Durano-Chairman 

Until 2012, disability wasn’t on Glenda Durano’s radar. That was the year her daughter lost her vision and her family entered the world of disability. Since then, Glenda has become a disability advocate, speaking on numerous occasions about the importance of disability inclusion, particularly in churches. Glenda has completed the Beyond Suffering certificate program and has volunteered with Joni and Friends. She joined the Board of The Banquet Network in 2023, and became its chairman in 2025. Glenda has published six books—four about college planning (she’s a retired Certified Educational Planner) and two regarding God’s faithfulness in her family’s journey into disability. Glenda owns and operates several real estate companies with her husband. She has two adult daughters, two sons-in-law, and two precious grandsons.
